This is a great experience. This is something I've dreamt about my entire life, so to have the opportunity to be one of the few guys that got drafted and have the opportunity to make a career out of a game I love is really great.
During these panels and breakout sessions, I've learned so much about what we are about to experience. It's giving us the opportunity to plan ahead and think about situations that you may get into, so you can prepare for how you will respond. It's really prepared me for what this rookie season – and the rest of my career – is going to look like.
It was either Eddie George or Brian Banks who spoke about self-discipline and getting to a point in your life when you need to set your own guidelines, decide what is or isn't acceptable, and what you are going to do to reach your goals. Anybody can listen to an authority, but it's important to set your own guidelines and abide by them. That's something that's been on my mind. I'm going to do this by making it clear to myself what I'm trying to accomplish, decide how I plan to accomplish it and staying on track.
I think the Rookie Symposium has really prepared me mentally for the things that I need to know going into the season. I'm excited. I can't wait for Camp to start and the season to begin. It's a dream come true, and I just want to help my team win.
